Colonic Hydrotherapy

Gentle, natural colonic hydrotherapy to cleanse, rehydrate and restore balance.

Colonic Hydrotherapy (also called Colonic Irrigation) gently cleanses the colon with warm, purified water introduced at very low gravitational pressure and body temperature. This helps release built‑up waste, gas and mucus that can accumulate through modern diets, stress and lifestyle, supporting natural digestive function, hydration and overall wellbeing.

Benefits Clients Report

Before Your Appointment
  • Drink 2.5L water daily for 2–3 days before.

  • Reduce processed and gas-forming foods (beans, sprouts, fizzy drinks).

  • A food diary helps us tailor advice.

  • If in doubt about suitability, we may ask for GP consent.

  • Privacy and comfort are prioritised; you’ll remain covered.

  • A small, single-use speculum is gently inserted (about 2 inches).

  • Warm, filtered water flows in; waste leaves through a closed system (no odours).

  • You may feel fullness or “butterflies” as the bowel releases — not painful.

  • Natural herbs may be included in the water.

  • First visit: 75–90 minutes (with consultation).

  • Follow-ups: ~60 minutes.

  • Most clients feel lighter, less bloated and energised.

  • Normal activities can be resumed the same day.

  • Temporary increase in urination is normal.

  • Eat lightly for 1–2 days (fruits, vegetables, salads, soups, chicken or fish).

  • Avoid heavy foods, alcohol, and gas-forming foods.

  • Consider probiotics (e.g., Acidophilus, live yoghurt) to support healthy bacteria.

Safety & Hygiene

  • Low‑pressure, body‑temperature water only.

  • Not habit‑forming (unlike some laxatives); may help re‑educate natural bowel rhythm.

  • Single‑use, disposable speculum and tubing; thorough cleaning protocols.

  • Performed by a qualified RICTAT therapist, registered with GRCCT.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on your goals and bowel history. Some clients feel well after one session; others benefit from a short course a few days to two weeks apart, especially if there’s long‑standing constipation or significant mucus. For ongoing support, many choose seasonal maintenance (every ~3 months); sluggish bowels may prefer monthly initially. Your therapist will guide you.
